The Michigan Wolverines’ season is at an end, following their first defeat in several years to the Ohio State Buckeyes in “The Game”. With it died any hope of making the Big Ten championship and attempting to get a huge upset over Indiana to sneak onto the College Football Playoff.
While they will get a bowl invitation without a doubt, the offseason has started for all intents and purposes.
As they start to prepare for 2026, one player in particular will be wondering if Ann Arbor is the place to stay: Quarterback Bryce Underwood.

Top 5 destinations, if Bryce Underwood leaves Michigan
#5 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets – ACC
A definite downgrade for the Michigan quarterback, this one has been called a sort of low-profile yet ambitious move by some reports. The Yellow Jackets seem to think that they’re one move away from consistent national relevance, after stints of success in 2024 and 2025. Could Bryce Underwood be that missing piece?
#4 Texas Longhorns – SEC
Let’s face it, Arch Manning was nowhere near what he was supposed to be for the Texas Longhorns. In an overall disappointing season for the Longhorns, Manning was by far the biggest disappointment. It could also be a great place for Underwood to develop, under the gaze of an offensively minded Steve Sarkisian and in a pro-like system.
#3 Alabama Crimson Tide – SEC
While Ty Simpson has one year of eligibility left, Bryce Underwood could be a big improvement at quarterback for the Crimson Tide. Alabama likes to develop pocket passers, and Underwood would fit the bill (although he can also make plays with his legs). The only problem would be that the Crimson Tide already has incredible prospects in the wings in the form of Keelon Russell and Austin Mack.
#2 LSU Tigers – SEC
The Tigers’ season was a great disappointment, so much so that the school parted ways with Brian Kelly, and they’re now set on a path to a lengthy rebuild. A key part of that rebuild is finding a quarterback, as veteran Garrett Nussmeier is on his way to the NFL after running out of eligibility. Depending on who comes to Baton Rouge as the next coach (and the rumor is it could be Lane Kiffin), it would be a great opportunity for Underwood.
#1 Oregon Ducks – Big Ten
The second non-SEC program on the list. This move would keep Bryce Underwood at the Big Ten, but in the highly offensive Oregon Ducks of Dan Lanning. The move would be an immediate upgrade for the quarterback in a program in which he can challenge for the Big Ten and even the CFP. The question is whether or not Dante Moore will declare for the NFL next year or not.
