Michigan QB Recruit Bryce Underwood Draws Major Tom Brady Comparison Amid Sherrone Moore Fallout

It’s already been a tough week for Michigan football. After self-imposing a two-game suspension on HC Sherrone Moore as fallout from the Conor Stalions scandal during the 2023 national championship season, the university has now lost its president to the University of Florida.

It’s not all bad in Ann Arbor, though. QB Bryce Underwood is receiving high praise, including some shocking comparisons to a Wolverines great. What’s the latest from the Wolverines’ QB recruit?

Analyst Gerald Dixon Makes Bold Prediction About Michigan QB Bryce Underwood

Bryce Underwood is a 6’4″, 210-pound quarterback from Belleville, Michigan, considered the crown jewel of the 2025 recruiting class. He has already demonstrated an outstanding understanding of the game with exceptional passing accuracy and unmatched composure.

During his senior year in high school, he accumulated approximately 3,000 passing yards and 40 touchdowns. These achievements earned him a 93 scouting grade, making him the best in the 2025 recruiting class. He committed to the Michigan Wolverines on November 21.

Analyst Gerald “Smoke” Dixon was candid after being asked which first-time starter will make the biggest impact this season.

“I’m gonna start off with my guy again, the left-handed or the right-handed version of Bryce Underwood. It’s really simple; the way that he’s going to impact Michigan is like no other quarterback.”

He continued, “I know everyone’s going to come at me and say, ‘What about Tom Brady?’ Tom Brady was a good player in college, and I think Bryce Underwood is a very impactful player just because of what he can do with his legs.

“You shut Bryce down with the hand; Bryce is going to put the game in his leg and say, ‘You know what?’ I can score from 90 yards out, five yards out, but I can also play the game from the pocket,” he continued.

    Sherrone Moore Suspension and Backlash

Sadly, Underwood’s arrival, a source of joy for fans, has been overshadowed by head coach Sherrone Moore, who is facing severe criticism. His suspension was due to a previous sign-stealing scandal. He served a one-game suspension in 2023, and Michigan just imposed another two-game suspension.

This could derail their promising season and affect the players. In addition, the NCAA and Michigan are still working on a resolution, and Moore could be subjected to additional penalties depending on the outcome. These huge uncertainties have left fans frustrated and unhappy.
