Browns’ $160,000,000 Hulk, Joe Flacco Reveal True Feelings On Shedeur Sanders As Cleveland’s Starting QB

Shedeur Sanders hasn’t had many opportunities to show his prowess at the Cleveland Browns’ training camp, having been saddled with QB4 duties throughout. This means that he has mainly been flying the team’s third-team offense and has yet to take a single snap of football with the first-team offense.

The closest he has come to playing with the first team was leading the second-team offense in a drill against the first-team defense once. However, this is about to change on Friday, as the Cleveland Browns have named him their starter for their preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.

Myles Garrett, who is worth $43 million (according to Forbes) and has signed a four-year, $160 million contract with the Browns, spoke about his excitement to see Shedeur Sanders start his NFL career during a press conference on Wednesday.

“He’s funny, optimistic, light-hearted,” Garrett, a star defensive end, said of the QB. “But he works hard. He takes it seriously, his craft. And he’s watching what the others are doing. Doing it his own way in which only he can. Looking forward to seeing him during these preseason games and how he manages the offense. He looks good, but all the guys look good right now.”

Super Bowl champion and likely Cleveland starter in 2025, Joe Flacco, also spoke about Shedeur Sanders during the press conference, saying that Friday will likely be a day Coach Prime’s son will remember for the rest of his life and that the entire team will be supporting him from the sidelines during the encounter.

“It’ll be interesting. Most of us have dreamt about this moment since we were five, six, seven, eight years old,” Flacco said.

Shedeur Sanders is starting, mainly due to hamstring injuries to Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel. Flacco is probably being preserved for the regular season due to his veteran status and age.

Bryce Young’s advice for Shedeur Sanders ahead of preseason encounter

Shedeur Sanders’s rival on Friday, Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young, was on the same field as him on Wednesday.

The Browns and the Panthers held a joint practice ahead of their preseason encounter on Friday. During his press conference, Young was asked if he had any advice for the rookie quarterback.

“He’s had a ton of success his entire life. The reason he’s here is he knows how to get here. I’m trying to find my way, do the best I can, the same with all those guys over on that side. They’ve all been good, there’s a reason they’re playing NFL football. Everyone has their own path, everyone has their journey,” Young said.

The Browns and Panthers will play on Friday at 7 p.m. The game will be held at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Panthers are six-point favorites, according to ESPN Bet.
