Bradyn Swinson’s NFL Draft Scouting Report

Bradyn Swinson was a late bloomer after beginning his career at Oregon with minimal production, but his breakout at LSU in 2024 — to the tune of 8.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss — makes it impossible to overlook his tape.

At 6’3″, 255 pounds, with over 33″ arms, Swinson has virtually every trait you could seek in an edge rusher.

He’s explosive off the edge, he has great bend and sinking capacity around the apex, he can channel speed-to-power and attack blockers inside their frame, and he has the sturdiness in run defense to set the edge and wall off pullers.

There’s still room to reach a greater level of consistency in both phases, but Swinson is trending up fast after 2024, and his motor is an undeniable strength.

    Bradyn Swinson’s NFL Draft Projection

In CSN’s 7-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft from April 12, Swinson landed in Round 2 with the 35th overall pick. James Fragoza has this to say:

Bradyn Swinson could ultimately hear his name called in Round 1, given the strength of his offseason. The tape may be inconsistent at times, but the flashes are worth betting on. His explosiveness and relentless motor could be the missing piece the Titans need off their edge.

And on CSN’s 2025 NFL Mock Draft for Day 3, Swinson was selected with the 105th pick in Round 4 to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Previously, CSN’s Bjorn Bergstrom had this to say about Swinson:

Swinson had 8.5 sacks as a fifth-year senior for the Tigers, finally blooming after three seasons with the Oregon Ducks and two with LSU. The 6’4″, 250-pounder wins with speed and quickness, which could pair well with fellow speedster Travon Walker and one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL in Josh Allen.
