The Florida Gators are trying to get back into contention in the SEC after a late-season push in 2024 fell flat. To do that, head coach Billy Napier has implemented values that push for creativity and innovation. What is Napier using to propel Florida forward?

Analytics, Sports Science, and Creative Media Defining Florida’s Modern Football Blueprint
While speaking recently with CBS Sports’s Josh Pate, Napier chatted about the blueprint for modern football that he has in place in Gainesville.
“We’re tweaking our systems behind the scenes in terms of evaluation, analytics, how we practice, sports science, the role of creative media,” Napier explained.
It is safe to say that Napier is leaving no stone unturned in his efforts to ensure that the program continues to evolve in today’s college football world.
If the Gators can continue to build the roster, play, and coach with these areas in mind, they have a great chance to stay in contention for years to come.
Obviously, the Gators’ 8-5 record wasn’t good enough to put them in a contending position in the conference. However, their end-of-year performance gave fans hope for the future.
After starting the season with a record of 4-5, they ended up winning their last four games of the year. Some of those wins came against a top-15 Ole Miss team, which likely kicked the Rebels out of the College Football Playoff, and a desperate LSU Tigers team. They also ended the year with a 25-point blowout win over Tulane in their bowl game.
Perhaps these new beliefs and values that Napier and the program have now adopted can take them even farther in 2025. Perhaps they can allow the Gators to start the season off on a better note, which will be important if they want to build a strong College Football Playoff case.

With a tougher schedule on the horizon, college football fans will get a great opportunity to see how ready this Gators team is to compete. However, if this team does not find a way to compete at a high level, Napier could be out of a job.
