The legendary coach Bill Belichick’s transition from the NFL to the University of North Carolina (UNC) has really raised eyebrows, for his six Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots, and he is exploring exciting new possibilities as the head coach of the Tar Heels. However, this time it’s not just Belichick’s coaching ability that’s making headlines.
His connection with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, a former cheerleader and current influencer, has raised a lot of discussion, more importantly, after the recent viral CBS interview session.
FS1 host Colin Cowherd recently offered a compelling perspective on why Hudson’s involvement could be a strategic asset for Belichick in the high-stakes world of college football.

Colin Cowherd Breaks Down Jordon Hudson’s Influence on Bill Belichick
For those who may not be familiar with the backstory, Belichick, now 73, began dating Hudson around early 2023 following his separation from her longtime partner, Linda Holliday.
The couple’s 49-year age gap has generated public interest and criticism, but their relationship has taken root on a professional dimension since Belichick’s appointment at UNC in December 2024. Hudson has been increasingly visible, from attending practices to reportedly influencing Belichick’s media strategy.

In a recent CBS Sunday Morning interview, Hudson interrupted a question about their relationship, really emphasizing her role, drawing both curiosity and some mixed reactions.
Cowherd, on his show “The Herd,” shared a compelling perspective on why Hudson’s involvement could be a strategic asset for Belichick in the high-stakes world of college football.
Yesterday, on an episode of The Herd, Cowherd offered a detailed perspective on Hudson’s role, framing her as a valuable asset for Belichick.
“She’s his PR director,” Cowherd stated. “She’s Bill’s influencer, which he didn’t need in the NFL, but you actually do in college. She’s his assistant, girlfriend, social media producer, PR handler. She fills a lot of roles.”
Cowherd further emphasized that Hudson’s involvement filled a critical gap in Belichick’s skill set.
“Sometimes in life, you don’t have to wear a headset to call plays,” he said. “She is calling plays for Bill, which he didn’t need in the NFL, but he actually does in college football, where players now select you.”
This perspective is now more relevant in modern times, as Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreements and social media influence can impact a recruit’s decision.
Belichick, whose interaction with the media has traditionally been brief and whose presence has been somewhat negligible during his Patriots tenure, is now excited to connect with Gen Z athletes who, to a great extent, value visibility and personal branding.
