Bill Belichick may be a legendary coach, guiding the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl wins, but his college debut season had been a disaster. He had a 4-8 season overall and was 2-6 in the ACC, disappointing many given his record as a head coach in the NFL. However, many have pointed to the drama with his much-younger girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, to be the culprit in turning the football team’s season into a “circus.”
Hudson has followed the former Patriots coach to Chapel Hill, and the drama surrounding her, from her age gap to her feud with Belichick’s family members to the various scandals that she is involved in, have largely overshadowed the news about what is happening with the football team. It has become so bad that a longtime North Carolina professor has called them out.
University of North Carolina Law and Government professor Christopher B. McLaughlin has reportedly reached out to UNC AD Bubba Cunningham with an email that asked him to “please end this circus.”
“When you agreed to pay a king’s ransom to hire Bill Belichick, did you also know that you were hiring Jordon Hudson to serve as the primary face of UNC athletics?” the professor wrote in his letter.
This is just the latest complaint from UNC staff, donors, alumni, and faculty regarding all the drama surrounding Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson. Previously, the Daily Mail managed to get its hands on a plethora of emails from these people, sent to North Carolina’s athletic department, all of which were complaining about the couple turning the football program into a circus.
There Were Reports That There Was a ‘Toxic Environment’ At Bill Belichick’s North Carolina Team
Bill Belichick’s struggles at UNC have become known throughout the college football world, with the team having a dismal season in his first year as head coach. However, local news channel WRAL published an explosive investigative report that suggested that there was a “toxic” environment happening under Belichick’s watch.
The report noted that UNC general manager Michael Lombardi was “nasty” and that parents and family members could not even get to speak with Belichick himself. There were also several NCAA rules violations happening under the table, from players selling game tickets to an assistant coach getting suspended for “providing a player’s family with impermissible benefits.”
