“Making a Fool of Himself”: Bill Belichick Faces Jason Whitlock’s Wrath Following Massive 48–14 TCU Loss

Head coach Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels did not get off to a strong start to their season. Despite lots of hype going into the season, the Tar Heels lost by a significant 48-14 margin to the TCU Horned Frogs in their season opener on Monday.

It was a disappointing start for Bill Belichick’s first foray into college football. While the team got out to a decent start in the first quarter, the game quickly got away from them as they gave up 13 points in the second quarter and went into halftime with a 20-7 deficit. On Wednesday morning, Jason Whitlock posted a clip with a caption saying Bill Belichick is “making a fool of himself.” In the clip, he spoke about how the Tar Heels should consider moving on from Belichick.

“I’m saying after one game, North Carolina should be figuring out, how do we get out from under Bill Belichick? It’s just one game, nah man,” Jason Whitlock said. “When that guy showed up with his 24-year-old girlfriend and she’s participating in interviews, she’s on field during spring practices, he’s on the beach with her on his feet, up in the air. When you saw that, it was, oh we got the wrong coach.

“This guy is living out some sexual fantasy that he did not get to live out in his younger days when his life was devoted to football. He’s not into football, he’s not into no distractions. He is the distraction. College football, the whole NFL stoic Bill Belichick, it doesn’t work.”

Bill Belichick Believes North Carolina Is Better Than What It Showed in Week 1

While fans and media members were not happy with North Carolina’s performance, neither was Bill Belichick. He spoke after the game about how he thinks his team is better than what they showed on Monday.

“You know, we need to do a better job all the way around – coaching, playing, all three phases of the game, just wasn’t up to what it needs to be,” Belichick said. “I know we’re a lot better than that.”

The Tar Heels have a short turnaround this week as they will play Charlotte on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
