“Bill Belichick Can’t Catch A Break”: Fans React As Kobe Paysour’s Costly Turnover Denies UNC Touchdown vs Virginia

Head coach Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels are playing the No. 16-ranked Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday. It is a tough matchup for a Tar Heels team that has struggled with consistency this season. To make things worse, Belichick has struggled with luck this season.

Early in the game against Virginia, wide receiver Kobe Paysour appeared set to score for the Tar Heels to take a 7-0 lead. However, he instead fumbled at the one-inch line for a touchback.

This led to a big reaction from fans on X.

“Man, Bill Belichick cannot catch a break in any context. Lost a game at Cal on a fumble into the end zone and then this…North Carolina about to take a 7-0 lead on Virginia and Paysour loses control of the ball a nanosecond before it hits the pylon. Touchback Virginia,” one fan wrote.

“It’s actually pretty impressive how many different ways this team finds to suck,” one fan commented.

“That’s definitely Belichick’s fault… Everyone knows he coaches his players to get all the way to the end zone and fumble,” one fan added.

Fans continued to react on X.

“Was at the Cal game where they did the exact same thing except at the very end of the game…” one fan wrote.

“I don’t understand. Why did he reach like that at the pylon?? Your supposed to reach over it to avoid that from happening,” one fan commented.

“They almost didn’t review the play too,” one fan added.

Virginia Takes the Lead Over Bill Belichick’s Squad After Kobe Paysour’s Costly Mistake

Following Kobe Paysour’s costly mistake, Bill Belichick’s squad surrendered the ball to the Cavaliers. Virginia then took the ball down the field, and although they did not get into the endzone, they capitalized with a field goal, taking a 3-0 lead.

North Carolina bounced back with an early field goal in the second quarter. However, halfway through the quarter, Virginia scored the first TD of the game to take a 10-3 lead. The Tar Heels will need to battle back if they want to overcome the early mistake by Kobe Paysour.
