In a repeat of his Feb.1 gesture, before the North Carolina Tar Heels faced the Duke Blue Devils in a game they lost 70-87, an email was sent to the fraternities.
The message? None other than the cherished former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and the UNC football program would be delivering pizzas.

Bill Belichick’s Pizza Surprise Ignites UNC Spirit
Belichick took time away from building the UNC football program this week to support the Tar Heels men’s and women’s basketball teams ahead of March Madness.
Just before the UNC men’s basketball faced off against the San Diego State Aztecs on Tuesday, March 18, Belichick delivered pizzas to the UNC women’s basketball team to watch the game. He shared some encouraging words and took a photo with them.

This time, it seems the pizza brought a dose of good fortune—the Tar Heels men’s team dominated with a 95-68 victory over the Aztecs and will now face the No. 6 seed Ole Miss Rebels on Friday, March 20. Meanwhile, the UNC women’s basketball team is preparing to take on the Oregon State Beavers in the tournament’s first round on Saturday, March 21. It’s an action-packed week for the Tar Heels basketball teams.
Back to football, Belichick just pulled off a monumental recruitment coup by getting Trashawn Ruffin to flip from an SEC powerhouse. The four-star recruit at defensive tackle announced on social media that he’s officially committing to Belichick’s Tar Heels for 2026.
