Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft has come and gone, as 70 more players were welcomed into the league. While each team makes the best pick for them, it may not be the best possible environment in terms of future success for the player.
Additionally, there are several players still on the board — including QB Shedeur Sanders –who have major question marks on their name heading into Day 3.

Players Left With Question Marks Following Day 2 of the NFL Draft
Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Another night and two more rounds of no takers for Shedeur Sanders, who has already taken the cake for arguably the biggest plummet in NFL Draft history.
However, the fall didn’t seem as bad when every other QB not named Cam Ward or Jaxson Dart remained on the board.
But then the New Orleans Saints selected Louisville’s Tyler Shough with the 40th pick. There was a drought before the Seattle Seahawks — who have a starter in Sam Darnold — took a chance on Alabama’s Jalen Milroe at No. 92.
Two picks later, and the Cleveland Browns, once believed to be in the market for Sanders, surprised the league and took Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel with the 94th pick.
As Day 3 approaches, there still is no expected landing spot for the former Colorado passer. At this point, every team has passed over him multiple times — so what would drive them to take Sanders later in the draft, where other positions such as defensive tackle and running back still have loads of depth?
The words “undrafted” and “Shedeur Sanders” just don’t go together — but we’re nearly halfway there before it would become a reality.
Savion Williams, WR, Green Bay Packers
The Packers ended their 23-year drought of not drafting a wide receiver in the first round when they selected Texas wideout Matthew Golden. The selection came in a peculiar year, as Green Bay’s receiving corps has had a notable logjam with multiple receivers wanting more targets.
Five Packers pass-catchers ended with between 400 and 900 receiving yards, an impressive feat illustrating their strong depth at the position. Add Golden to the mix and there’s even more mouths to feed.
Despite that, Green Bay’s decision-makers decided to forego other draft needs (cornerback!) and take another WR who will come in and want the ball.
Looking league-wide, the Packers’ receiving core is at the top of the list in terms of depth.
For Savion Williams, they rob a promising prospect of a spot where he can thrive and instead place him alongside six other pass-catchers.
Justin Walley, CB, Indianapolis Colts
This isn’t as much a commentary on Walley, but rather how high he ended up going with the Colts.
Unranked on CSN’s Big Board, the expectations that come with a third-round pick are simply too high for the former Minnesota Golden Gophers cornerback. Justin Walley stands just 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds, which could put a cap on his outside cornerback abilities in the pros.
Although he is on the quicker side for corners, he struggles to transition and tends to be handy, which will almost certainly lead to penalties.
Walley may prove me wrong and become a stalwart for the Colts’ defense for years to come, but it’s just too high to draft a player of his caliber. Indianapolis almost certainly could’ve waited much longer.
Jack Sawyer, EDGE, Ohio State
While it’s not a huge surprise to see Jack Sawyer’s name still on the board heading into Day 3, he did have a possibility of being drafted in the third round to a team that believed enough in his abilities.
That’s exactly the difficulty in this draft for a position of depth in this class, as EDGE is. It’s very much a draft in the eye of the beholder, which has caused players believed to be rated below Sawyer to be selected already.

Though not necessarily viewed as a prospect with a high ceiling, Sawyer could provide immediate contributions in a depth role for a defensive line.
The problem with that is that many teams are looking to shoot for the sky, instead opting to bet on measurables and top-end potential rather than the sure thing in the former Buckeye EDGE.
He very easily could go early in Day 4 — but it’s not inconceivable to see his name still be on the board come the fifth round.
