Big 12 Program’s New $5000 End Zone Venture Falls Flat As Fans Give Brutal Assessment: “Hope Everyone Boycotts This” “Awful”

Blake Niemann, a multimedia journalist at Fox 10 Phoenix, gave viewers more footage of ASU’s new field-level suites, which are their premium seating, on his X account. But supporters have not had a positive response.

The pricing structure is the source of controversy. The price for each seat is $5,000, but when buyers purchase their seats, they must purchase them in a full set of four seats. This means customers must spend at least $20,000 for a suite.

The fan’s reaction has been immediate and intense on X. One fan even called out to boycott the suites.

“This looks horrendous, I hope everyone boycotts this”, stated a fan.

“These seats are awful”, remarked a fan.

“That is, um….embarrassing”, said another fan.

“Terrible set up. God awful location…$5k a seat is laughable tbh. Those aren’t $50 seats”, said a fan calling out the ridiculous pricing.

“For $6000, could I get better than a folding chair?”, commented a fan sarcastically.

“Imagine paying $20k to watch an ASU football game”, said a fan.

“Idk why anyone would sit there willingly lmao”, commented a fan.

“I’ve seen better seating arrangements at my nephews t-ball games”, said a fan drawing out a hilarious parallel.

“What???? Lmaooo What does a regular suite cost per year there? 20k for 4 seat suite in a hot tent in desert with the worst view of the field might be the biggest ripoff in sports lol”, called out another fan.

The timing of this feedback could not be worse for ASU’s athletic department. The program just had its greatest season in more than a decade by winning the Big 12 championship and finishing the final AP poll at #7.

ASU Leads Big 12 in 2025 AP Preseason Poll

As they begin the 2025 season, the Sun Devils sit at 11th in the AP Preseason Poll, their highest preseason ranking since 1998. With this distinction, they are also the top-ranked Big 12 program to begin the new season, a remarkable turnaround from a program that struggled for years.

Safety Xavion Alford is the hallmark of how far the program has come when he made the cut for the Jim Thorpe Award Preseason Watch List. This also recognizes him as one of the country’s top defensive backs and shows how far the defense has come under Dillingham.

ASU begins their season on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at home against Northern Arizona University at Mountain America Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM MST, allowing fans to get their first look at this year’s team.
