Who Is Playing in the Big 12 Championship Game?
While no team had clinched the Big 12 Championship Game entering Week 14, it was Colorado who first punched their ticket into the tiebreaking scenarios on Black Friday. But following Saturday’s action in the Big 12, it was Arizona State winning first, followed by Iowa State’s win that put Colorado’s spot in jeopardy.
With Colorado falling to Iowa State in the tiebreaking scenarios, had BYU lost to Houston in the final game on the Big 12 calendar, it would have been Colorado taking on Iowa State in the title game.

Instead, BYU knocked off Houston and clinched the four-way tie between the top four teams. BYU’s victory also knocked Colorado out of the game and put Iowa State vs. Arizona State as the Big 12 Championship Game in 2024.
Which Teams Play in the Big 12?
The Big 12 had dominated the power move discussion in the conference realignment conversation over the past few years. Despite losing Texas and Oklahoma, the Big 12 proved to be truly open for business, as conference commissioner Brett Yormark famously said.
Since then, the Big 12 had added the University of Cincinnati, Brigham Young University, and the University of Central Florida for the 2023 season. They hadn’t stopped there, as they plucked teams from the Pac-12 and prepared to welcome Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah in 2024.
