The Ball State 2024 football schedule has a peculiar start, with a bye in Week 1 that is usually the preserve of teams playing in Week 0. So, a week later than most teams, they kick off their 2024 campaign by welcoming the Missouri State Bears to Muncie.
From there, the Cardinals’ out-of-conference slate is spread out a little, but that won’t dilute a particularly strong strength of opponent. Ball State is on the road at the Miami Hurricanes in Week 3, the James Madison Dukes in Week 5, then face the SEC’s Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville during Week 8.
The MAC slate of action on the Ball State 2024 football schedule is also very strong. A rough road calendar includes trips to New York to face the Buffalo Bulls and to Athens to take on the presumed conference front-runner Ohio Bobcats. They also open their MAC campaign on the road against the Central Michigan Chippewas and face the Kent State Golden Flashes in Kent.

The MAC calendar isn’t completely doom and gloom, as the Cardinals avoid facing the Toledo Rockets and will at least have home advantage when they take on the reigning conference champion Miami (OH) RedHawks. Nonetheless, the Ball State 2024 football schedule has plenty of obstacles for Neu’s team to overcome if they’re to return to bowl eligibility.
