Bai Jobe, the No. 7 EDGE in the 2023 class, looks to exit Kansas, taking elite potential away.

EDGE Bai Jobe Enters Transfer Portal After Kansas Stint With Eyes on Fresh Start
When former Kansas edge defender Bai Jobe hopped in the portal, you could sense the quiet raising of eyebrows of programs. Despite never tallying a single sack during his stops at Michigan State and Kansas, teams will open their doors and, to a lesser extent, their wallets, in hopes of bringing the pass rusher to campus.
Hayes Fawcett broke the news with this tweet. As mentioned, Jobe played in a total of eight collegiate games with only 11 tackles and zero sacks to his name. Back in 2022, 24/7 Sports National Recruiting Expert Chris Singletary detailed a few thoughts, regarding Jobe’s potential.

“Excellent flexibility in his knee and ankles. Does a good job show a good initial 1st-step out of his stance. Keeps his pads low and does not expose his chest by playing upright. He is able to flip his hips and run the hoop on his outside pass rush moves. ”
“Good overall quickness that is coupled with closing speed and acceleration. Solid with his hands and punch that will improve with added power and technique work. He is active getting off blocks, playing with very good effort and urgency. ”
“Shows that he is instinctive in his block recognition and understanding of his assignment off of those blocks to make plays. The overall view of Jobe’s outcome as a player will happen once, he gets into a college program. With him still being fairly new to football one could expect a nice uptick in every aspect of his game from the physical to the mental.”
Temple Owls
New head coach KC Keeler inherits the hottest of messes in FBS. In a little more than a decade, the Owls devolved into a disaster from a coaching and recruiting viewpoint. Their pass rush over the last couple of years exemplify that, with 36 sacks over the past 24 games.
Moreover, 2024 saw a cratering out of the pass rush with the Owls tallying just 14 sacks, tied for 128th overall, out of 134 teams. Jobe, if simply unleashed as the edge rusher, not worrying about anything else, will see enough reps to make waves. Keeler needs help on either side of the ball. Why not bring in a player with the potential for splashy plays?
East Carolina Pirates
As of this writing, Ryheem Craig, a Louisville transfer, could start at each end for Matt Harrell with just three career sacks. Granted, the Pirates did win the Military Bowl last season, but in the AAC, are they good with mediocre seasons?
Jobe’s athletic palette screams gamechanger that just needs time to develop. In Kansas, he needed to face Big 12 blocking and that would not help anyone trying to improve his craft.
Nevada Wolf Pack
Two juniors, Jonathan Maldonado and Dylan Labarbera are the most experienced edges for Nevada. Boasting a total of 1.5 career sacks, no one will fear lining up against Jeff Choate’s team. Nevada struggled to a 3-10 finish and the time looks lifeless and appears to go through the motions. Jobe can start and thriving as a situational pass rusher.
Sacramento State Hornets
This one feels a bit different. While still an FCS school, the Hornets’ aura feels deeper. First, new head coach Brennan Marion brings excitement to the team. Combined with the Hornets making the predicted jump to FBS, Jobe, with early play, can definitely draw attention.

Not to mention, if he chooses Sacramento State and he wants to leave after this year, he will actually possess positive game film the paints him in the best light.
