It is not a secret that the football players of Kansas State brag about their speed. The fastest players receive a special t-shirt each year that showcases how quickly they can move up and down the field in the t-shirt itself.
Last year, Avery Johnson was the player from the Wildcats who recorded a stunning 22/mph speed in practice. The young talent we see now is an individual molded and inspired by his parents’ unwavering support and guidance, who have always believed in the dream.

Meet the Parents of Avery Johnson
Born on November 2, 2004, Avery decided to represent the Kansas State Wildcats over many offers and began his collegiate football journey with the Wildcats.
He is the son of Mark Johnson and Hope Dent. Dent, Avery’s mother, graduated with a Bachelor’s in Communication and Marketing from Wichita State University. She works as a mortgage loan officer at Supreme Lending.
On the other hand, Johnson’s father, Mark Johnson, is a partner at Uncle Bill Bail Bonds. An ex-athlete, the elder Johnson always told the Kansas State quarterback the importance of working hard and being disciplined.
Avery’s parents have been there for him, offering guidance in every step of the way, especially during the early years. As Johnson is on his journey to make it, it is clear that the influence of family has been fruitful for the young man.
Belief was always present in the family when it came to Avery Johnson. In an interview with YMCA Wichita, his father said the words that every son wishes to hear from his father.
“Call me crazy, but I knew at that age, my son would be better than Michael Jordan,” Johnson said.
While the young star quarterback is making a name for himself, his parents can feel proud that they have played the most crucial part in developing his character on and off the field.
