This 7-Round Atlanta Falcons 2025 NFL Mock Draft addresses several defensive needs with a versatile weapon picked in Round 1.

After a disappointing 2024 season, the Atlanta Falcons are ready to be aggressive again this offseason. The front office is under pressure to address their perennial pass-rushing problems and to put them in position to make the playoffs for the first time since 2017.

If the Falcons are to be successful, they will need to find contributors throughout the 2025 NFL Draft. Here is a 7-Round NFL Mock Draft analyzing who Atlanta could pick in April.

    7-Round Atlanta Falcons Mock Draft

The Falcons had the worst pass rush in the NFL in 2024, and the front office must work hard this offseason to improve upfront. That means attacking the position in free agency and the draft.

In addition to addressing the pass rush, there are other areas where Atlanta must improve to surpass the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the top team in the NFC South.

General manager Terry Fontenot has emphasized that this draft will prioritize defensive players. One critical need for the Falcons is to find another cornerback to pair with A.J. Terrell, which they are likely to target with one of their first two draft selections.

The Falcons team needs that could also be addressed in later rounds are tight end, wide receiver, safety, and defensive tackle.

Round 1, Pick 15: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama

A hybrid linebacker who can also rush the passer, Jihaad Campbell is an ultra-athletic, versatile chess piece who could fulfill multiple roles on the Falcons’ defense.

The 6’3”, 235-pound Alabama Crimson Tide defender performed remarkably at the 2025 NFL Combine and is unlikely to fall past the first 20 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. With outstanding instincts, intelligence, and the ability to make plays in both the passing and running games, Campbell has proven himself in coverage and in triggering downhill.

But it is his natural pass-rushing instincts and powerful, explosive movement that make him a potent and influential threat. With five sacks and 12 tackles for a loss in 2024, the Alabama senior is always around the football and should get more looks off the edge or blitzing in the Falcons’ defensive scheme.

Round 2, Pick 46: Azareye’h Thomas, CB, Florida State

Azareye’h Thomas is a long, rangy corner who uses his length to attack at the catch point and get physical off the line of scrimmage. The Florida State Seminole has punchy and powerful hands in press to knock receivers off balance and disrupt routes.

Meanwhile, he also excellently tracks the ball over his shoulder and has rhythm and timing through his route mirroring.

Allowing just 141 yards in coverage in 2024, Thomas has proven he can be a lockdown perimeter corner.

Round 4, Pick 117: David Walker, EDGE, Central Arkansas

With 55 pressures, 23 TFLs, and 12 sacks in 2024, David Walker was one of the standout players in the FCS.

The Central Arkansas Bears pass rusher had superior athleticism to any of his counterparts, and his sharp change of direction, bend, relentless motor, and strong arsenal of pass rush moves allow him to consistently convert speed to power to get after the passer.

It may take Walker some time to get up to speed at the NFL level. However, if the Falcons can develop his diverse skill set, the 6’1”, 277-pound edge rusher can be productive in their pass-rush rotation.

Round 6, Pick 201: Luke Lachey, TE, Iowa

Luke Lachey hasn’t had much opportunity to produce in the last two years due to a season-ending injury in 2023 and the Iowa Hawkeyes’ run-heavy offense. However, the tight end has showcased clean, sticky hands to make plays as a pass catcher.

This may lead to Lachey falling down the board, but the 6’5”, 245-pound senior has the length to be corrective at the catch point, and as a former wide receiver, he is still developing his route running. In total, that should make the Iowa standout a valuable pickup on Day 3.

Round 7 – Pick 244: Adin Huntington, DT, Tulane

Adin Huntington is an interior pass-rushing specialist with the athletic upside and agility that is worthy of a late-round selection. With 15.5 career sacks, the 6’1”, 270-pound defensive lineman is undersized.

Still, he showcases the versatility to lineup across the defensive line and is explosive out of his stance to create pressure and exploit gaps.
