Travis Hunter’s Heisman Rival Ashton Jeanty Faces Subtle Jab From $5,450,000,000 NFL Franchise Following Lackluster Preseason Performance

During the Seattle Seahawks vs. Las Vegas Raiders preseason game, former Heisman candidate Ashton Jeanty struggled despite coming in with a lot of hype. He had a negative yardage total, disappointing many fans. However, this soon led to some trolling from their opponents, the Seahawks, reportedly worth $5,450,000,000 as per Forbes.

In their tweet, the Seahawks claimed that former Broncos running back George Holani was the best running back to ever come out of Boise State, a clear jab at Ashton Jeanty, who struggled much during the preseason game.

The Raiders targeted Jeanty in the passing game, with the rookie making mistake after mistake on the field. The game ended on a 23-23 tie, with the continued concerns from the Raiders’ offensive line showing up once again. Las Vegas had the same problem last season, with the Raiders having one of the worst offensive lines last season, and they failed to protect Ashton Jeanty in the game time and time again.

It is still the preseason, and it is still too early to tell if Jeanty, drafted No. 6 overall by the Raiders in the first round, is a bust or not. However, there is still plenty of time for the Raiders to make those tweaks as the 2025 season fast approaches.

Poor Blocking From Las Vegas Raiders Blamed For Poor Ashton Jeanty Debut Performance

The Las Vegas Raiders’ offensive line ranked in the bottom half of the league last year, not just for its run block win rates, but also its pass block win rates in 2024. This led to the team having problems running the ball, and they chose Ashton Jeanty as their No. 6 pick to help solve those problems.

However, the team had yet another poor blocking game against the Seahawks, which exploited that offensive line weakness as they targeted Jeanty constantly. The former Boise State standout had three yards during his opening drive, and that was when the Seahawks targeted him, forcing him for a combined minus-4 yards during his next two carries.

This poor offensive line can now be seen as one of the reasons why Jeanty would be held back this year, especially with Las Vegas’ well-documented offensive woes, going 4-13 last season as one of the worst teams in the league.
