With the NFL Draft a little over a month away, prospects are doing all they can to try and improve their stock. With the combine in the rearview mirror, it’s up to pro days and private workouts to climb draft boards.
Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is one of the more sought-after prospects and potentially the first wide-out taken in the draft. He recently held a private workout, and it might have bumped him up a few picks.

Tetairoa McMillan 40-Yard Dash Impresses Scouts
During a private workout for scouts, McMillan ran an impressive four-and-a-half second 40-yard dash. Although McMillan didn’t run at the NFL Scouting Combine, this time would have put him right outside the top ten fastest times for wide receivers. Texas’ Matthew Golden logged the fastest time at 4.29.
McMillian didn’t participate in vertical or shuttle drills but ran some routes.

This time makes him even more of an attractive prospect and should bump him up a couple of spots in mock drafts. He has been touted as the best receiver in this draft class; he possesses great size at 6’4” and had some of the best hands in college football last season.
Last season, the Hawaii native put up monster numbers: 84 receptions, 1,319 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns. Although Arizona didn’t live up to expectations last season, finishing 4-8, McMillan was a bright spot for the team. Compared with the speed he showcased today, his size could be deadly if he is paired up with a quality quarterback in the league.
Many mock drafts have McMillian as a top-ten pick, with some even having him in the top five. A popular NFL comparison has been Cincinnati Bengals star receiver Tee Higgins.
Tee Higgins at the combine: HT: 6’4, WT: 216, 40: 4.59, seems good enough to me. The Patriots, Jags, Raiders, and Jets should all be considering him in the top 10

Many in the league strive for this comparison, considering that Higgins just picked up a mega contract from Cincinnati that will earn him $115 million over four years.
Where Will Tetairoa McMillan Land?
Unless a trade occurs within the top three picks, it would be unlikely for McMillian to land in Tennesee, Cleveland, or New York (Giants). All three have quarterback problems of their own. However, it wouldn’t be shocking to see his name called after that.

Picks four through eight are owned by the Patriots, Jaguars, Raiders, Jets, and Panthers. All those teams are set up at quarterback and need another receiver. The Patriots would make the most sense, as they must find a reliable option for Drake Maye. Wherever McMillian ends up, he will be an instant impact player.
