Are Dante Moore and Dakorien Moore Related?

While the Ducks duo once joked that they were cousins, the duo has no common family ties apart from sharing the last name. However, the quarterback did help Oregon land Dakorien Moore in the first place.

Dante Moore, the sophomore quarterback, comes from East Cleveland, Ohio. Following a brief stint at UCLA, he transferred to Oregon. Meanwhile, Dakorien is a freshman wide receiver from Duncanville, Texas, who arrived in Eugene as one of the nation’s top recruits in the 2025 class. He chose the Ducks over other top programs because of the coaching staff, and the culture at Oregon.

“I want to be a part of something legendary. I see coach (Dan) Lanning building a program that will win a national championship,” he said. “I feel like (Oregon wide receivers) coach (Junior) Adams will develop me into the best wide receiver and man outside of football, and the culture is different there most of all.”

Dakorien Moore has also spoken about his connection with Dante Moore, rating the quarterback highly and developing the relationship with him.

“I have a ton of respect for Dante,” the receiver said. “When I first came in, he was the guy to put me with the older guys. He was the person who knew that I was gonna make an impact on his team and just trusting me to come in and do my job and everything. Gave me respect for him and the hard work that he put in.

“The dedication and consistency, I kind of pride myself on trying to be like him in most aspects. Not being the oldest guy on the team, but taking the leadership role of our team. Trying to be a wing to him and stuff like that. I try to make sure he feels the same love that he reciprocated from the jump.”

Both Moore would one day become NFL stars, the quarterback probably next year and the receiver in some years. Who knows, maybe someday they will light up the NFL field
