‘He’s Quite a Lot Different Than Eli or Peyton’ – Analyst Reveals What Makes Arch Manning Unique Compared to His Uncles

Arch Manning is fast. His rushing skills are more athletic and agile, which will benefit Texas a lot during the 2025 season. The 19-year-old quarterback will start for Steve Sarkisian in hopes of leading the program to a national championship.

While he looks to carve his own legacy at Austin, experts have been drawing comparisons to his legendary uncles, Eli, and Peyton Manning. According to college football analyst Clay Travis, Arch is a better athletic passer, making him stand out from both uncles.

Analyst Drops a Bold Analysis of Arch Manning

The 2025 season will prove pivotal for the Texas QB to cement his position in the college football world. He is among the highest-ranked prospects, and expectations are sky-high, with Quinn Ewers already setting the bar for him in Texas.

Nothing less than a national championship will do justice to his hype. More importantly, the “Manning” entitlement carries its weight.

Travis believes Arch Manning will impress the most with his rushing skills and running ability. During his limited appearance on the field in the 2024 season, Manning was used in similar roles to make plays out of the pocket.

“I think one thing that is going to actually help Arch Manning is that he’s quite a lot different than Eli or Payton. Um, in that he’s actually a really, really good athlete,” Travis said on the Next Round Show this week.

“So, you know, most people, I mean, and I think Peyton and Eli would acknowledge that, too. I mean, would you have ever believed for those of us who are not old enough to have watched Archie Manning play?

“I mean, Texas basically used him in athletic quarterback situations, right? He was basically, like, the guy who came in to try to run the ball for first downs, the guy who came in to run, you know, sort of sprint option plays.”

Travis continued, “I don’t think anybody would have ever foreseen that with Peyton or Eli. So I guess my point on it is yes, he’s got the last name Manning, but he actually plays very differently than Peyton or Eli did.

“You know he’s a chip off the old block of Archie, and remember, Cooper was the most athletic of the Manning kids. I mean, he was the one maybe the most like Archie, but he was a wide receiver.”

Last season, Arch recorded 939 yards and scored nine touchdowns while conceding only two interceptions during his limited time on the field. Expectations are on the next level in 2025.
