The college football world was all anticipating one of the most exciting matchups of the season between the Texas Longhorns v the Ohio State Buckeyes. Not, only was it a clash of two highly ranked teams, but also Arch Manning’s first game as a full-time starter.
But through the first 30 minutes of play, the only trending was the heavy criticism directed toward the young quarterback. Social media accounts were rising in the “Arch Manning Sucks” category. Shock and frustration were clearly visible and Manning’s play was the most glaring point of criticism.
The stats from the first half told a dismal story. Manning was just 5-for-10 for 26 yards and the Texas offense continued to stall before it could even get into scoring position. The Longhorns were unable to score, which is shocking for a team with so much offensive talent.

The online backlash was intense and immediate, but let’s not forget that Longhorns bring a lot of talent offensively and head coach Steve Sarkisian probably has a lot of tactics up his sleeve.
