Ex-NFL QB Draws Bold Comparisons Between Arch Manning and Bo Nix, Joe Burrow, Baker Mayfield and More NFL Stars’ Career Trajectory

Arch Manning was among the most hyped up players the college football world had seen in a long time. Analysts and fans predicted him to win the Heisman trophy, take the Longhorns to a national title, and secure the No. 1 overall draft pick all at once in his first year as a starter.

The faith in Manning shook in the first game against Ohio State itself, as the Texas quarterback struggled to show his abilities in his debut against the defending champions.

The next few games weren’t the easiest for Manning and company either, as they won a few games with a close margin that fans thought should’ve been easy wins.

However, things are looking better for Manning now as he continues to build the momentum throughout the games, most recent one being the 34-31 win against Vanderbilt in Week 10.

Talking about how people were too quick to judge Manning, Robert Griffin III took to X on Wednesday and wrote:

“Arch Manning haters are sick right now. His growth in the last 2 games has been promising. Some people crushed him because he wasn’t a finished Super Bowl winning product like his Uncles Peyton and Eli Manning immediately in his first year as the starting QB at Texas.”

“Joe Burrow, Baker Mayfield, Bo Nix, Michael Penix Jr and countless others weren’t finished products the first time they stepped on the field either, but they all became 1st round picks. QB development isn’t like a microwave. It’s a Smoker because Greatness takes time to marinate and Arch Manning is cooking,” he added.

Joel Klatt Puts a Pin on When Arch Manning Will Be Ready for NFL

Arch Manning’s upcoming NFL journey has been a topic of discussion since the preseason, while his grandad Archie Manning opined that there is no way the Longhorns QB isn’t coming to Texas again after 2025. Arch told the press that he hasn’t made a decision yet and is taking one day at a time.

Talking about how many starts will it take for Arch Manning to be NFL-ready during an appearance on “The Herd,” Joel Klatt said the Texas QB needs at least 20 more starts to be even remotely close to being ready for the league.

He added that Arch was dreadful in the beginning of the season and acknowledged that he has gotten better in the last couple of weeks.

“So I don’t care if it’s your third year in college or if it’s your first year in college, the only thing that matters is number of games started,” Klatt said.

After an upcoming bye week on Saturday, Texas will be facing the Georgia Bulldogs at Sanford stadium.
