Arch Manning and the Texas Co. clinched a nail-biting overtime victory in week 9’s matchup against Mississippi State, bringing them to an overall record of 6-2 so far this season.

The Longhorns are set to face Diego Pavia’s Vanderbilt in week 10; however, Sarkisian’s team could have a massive setback as their QB1 Arch Manning has been out on a concussion protocol after getting injured in Saturday’s game.

During the game on Saturday, the Texas QB, who completed 29 of 46 pass attempts that led to a 346 yards run, got hit in the head during a 13 yard scramble and got slammed into the ground, after which he was escorted to the medical tent and got taken out of the game for good.

Manning also secured three touchdowns and one interception before the exiting the game.
Talking about Texas’ backup QB who could take the spotlight in week 10, Sarkisian said:

“Well, I think the good thing for Matt, I thought he had a great practice today. I think the players have a lot of confidence in him. I think it’s his maturity, his approach. He’s very engaged even when he doesn’t play.  He’s always picking guys up, offense, defense, special teams. And so he’s got a really good relationship with the guys.”
