Arch Manning Gets Nod Of Approval From 2x SB-Winning Uncle Eli Manning amid SEC Media Day Buzz

Representing the Texas Longhorns as their starting quarterback at SEC Media Days, Arch Manning took center stage on Tuesday. The 21-year-old also received a nod of approval from his uncle and former player Eli Manning, who made a guest appearance on ESPN’s “Get Up!” show recently.

Host Peter Schrager asked the New York Giants legend to share something about Arch that people don’t know. The two-time Super Bowl champion said:

“I’m just proud of Arch. I’m proud of how he handled this whole situation, these last couple of years through high school. He’s a great kid. He’s just dialed into everything going on. He’s a sponge right now. Every time I see him, he’s asking questions.”

Eli said the Texas quarterback must utilize his athletic ability as a weapon and use his running game to get those first downs. The 44-year-old concluded his answer by praising Arch’s work ethic, saying it will serve him in good stead in the 2025 season.

“I’m excited for him. It’s not an easy task coming in. Week 1, go to Ohio State, defending champions, and go into their house and try to play well. But I think he’s up for the challenge. He’s worked his tail off. I’ve seen it. I’m excited to watch him play this upcoming season,” Eli added.

Arch Manning showed he was a dual threat for the Longhorns last season. He punished opponents through the air, throwing for 939 yards and nine touchdowns with two interceptions. He also delivered on the ground, running for 108 yards and four scores.

Arch addressed the Heisman hype and championship talk around him during his press briefing at SEC Media Days, saying “talk is cheap” and he’s “gotta go prove it.”
