Arch Manning is among the most hyped players ahead of the 2025 college football season. While some of the hype is owed to his exciting but limited performances in the 2024 season, most of it stems from the fact that he belongs to one of the greatest football families.
Arch is a nephew of the legendary quarterbacks Cooper and Eli Manning; hence, fans are excited to see glimpses of them in the Texas QB on the field in the upcoming season.
However, Arch’s dad Cooper Manning does not believe the family tie will have a major impact on the Longhorns star’s game.
During an interview with the Athletic’s Bruce Feldman, Cooper said:
“As much as they are great influences, they weren’t around a ton, I don’t think Eli ever saw Arch play a high school or college football game. He is coming in this year. Peyton would come in for a game or two occasionally. Arch would see them at the Manning Passing Academy and may see ’em at Mardi Gras, but that’s like five nights in a year, so it’s hard to say whether he’s ‘like them or like someone else.”
“I do think you can pick up little pieces of people that you like. Arch is probably just as likely to pick up a habit of Patrick Mahomes as he is of Eli with things that you just like about people and the way they handle themselves. And fortunately, anybody who watches anything can get more exposure to players they like and want to mimic,” Cooper added.

Steve Sarkisian Offers Insight into Eli and Peyton’s Influence on Arch Manning’s Recruitment Process
Arch Manning has proven his loyalty to the Longhorns time and time again, be it by sticking to the process and waiting for his turn to be the starting QB for two years or him flaunting his Texas merchandise as a kid.
Arch joined Texas in 2023, and while people would believe his uncles, Eli and Peyton would keep a close eye on the recruitment process, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian shared that it wasn’t the case.
During his appearance on the 3rd & Long podcast, Sarkisian said:
“I thought what was also interesting in the recruiting process- nowhere in that time did I get a call from Peyton, did I get a call from Eli. It wasn’t about the uncles. It was always about their family and his grandpa, Archie who’s a great influence on his life.”
Arch Manning the Longhorns will take on the field against Ohio State on August 30 2025 to kick off the new season.
