Without ever starting a full season in his collegiate career, Arch Manning is already projected to achieve massive milestones like the Heisman Trophy or being the No.1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, if he ends up declaring.
After joining the Longhorns in June 2022 as the No.1 recruit of the 2023 class, Manning was expected to wait for one year behind Quinn Ewers and then get the starting quarterback role. However, as Ewers decided to come back for the 2024 season, his wait extended to another year.
Arch Manning is now ready to take the spotlight as QB1 in 2025, however, there’s still a lot of curiosity around his plan for when the season ends. Will he come back for another year or will he declare for the NFL draft?
The Texas star’s grandad Archie Manning recently shared that his grandson will not leave Steve Sarkisian’s program for another year and wont be declaring for the NFL Draft, which many analysts like Colin Cowherd believe is not the right decision in terms of business.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Aug. 19, Arch Manning was asked about his grandad’s comments. Arch replied:
“Yeah, I don’t know where he got that from. He texted me and apologized about that. I’m really just taking it day by day right now.”
