    Andy Kotelnicki’s Mantra

In his first campaign calling the shots in Happy Valley, Kotelnicki helped the Nittany Lions to 430 yards per game, finishing second in the Big Ten in total offense.

Speaking in the discussion, Kotelnicki talked about his mantra:

“Don’t talk about it, be about it. I say to them guys the scheme that we do, really going to be the secondary from how we do it.”

    Andy went on and said:

“And the four principles that we wanna talk about with our players that the first thing is that the mantra that we say, Don’t talk about it, be about it. In the world where we say we wanna be explosive, we say we wanna not turn the ball over, our actions have to align with that.”

“Number two, that we have to train ourselves in a way that when it gets hard, we can trust and rely on our training. The third thing is approaching all these work with the right attitude. If you are not doing anything with the right attitude and a sense of urgency, then you are really not doing anything. The last thing is the daily improvement. Even 1% improvement every day is a lot.”

    Andy Kotelnicki’s Style of Play

Kotelnicki has been crucial in shaping Drew Allar’s skills. Drew is a key player in Kotelnicki’s strategy this campaign. Since his arrival, he has shifted from being just a coordinator under Lance Leipold for 11 years to making big changes in the Penn State offense.

Following a foundational Year 1, Coach Kotelnicki is in the second year of implementing his offensive schemes. As of right now, the consistent development of Drew Allar remains a priority, and the team projects a strong future.
