‘Just Shut Up’ – Analyst Trashes FSU QB Thomas Castellanos’ Bold Dig at Alabama in Post-Nick Saban Era

Alabama fans were up in arms when Florida State Seminoles quarterback Thomas Castellanos took a dig at the team. The FSU QB claimed that the Crimson Tide were not the same team as it was under Nick Saban during an interview with On3 Sports. However, this bold claim did have one big pushback.

“I don’t know if they know, but you go back and watch every first game that I played in, we always start fast,” Castellanos said. “I dreamed of moments like this. I dreamed of playing against Alabama. They don’t have Nick Saban to save them. I just don’t see them stopping me.”

These comments got him some pushback from Alabama fans, including YouTuber and football analyst Kangaroo Black, who had some strong words for the Seminoles quarterback, especially as they will be hosting the Crimson Tide for their season opener.

“Now, Thomas Castellanos, I hope you know what you getting yourself and your team into,” the YouTube football analyst said. “You should just shut up, put your head down, and go to work, but there’s nothing that you can do to save yourself or your Florida State Seminoles from my Alabama Crimson Tide.”

“Now I respect you, Thomas Castellanos,” he added. “You got a lot of confidence, you and Diego Pavia. But I guarantee you, one thing when you face my Alabama Crimson Tide, you’re taking an L, I can guarantee you that.”

ESPN’s Paul Finebaum also blasts FSU QB Thomas Castellanos over Alabama dig

It was not only Alabama fans who put Thomas Castellanos on blast, but also ESPN’s Paul Finebaum. During his appearance on WJOX’s “McElroy and Cubelic In the Morning,” the ESPN analyst took a dig at the Florida State quarterback for going after “low-hanging fruit.”

“You have one guy that popped off, and I think what he did was he just took low-hanging fruit,” Finebaum said. “What I mean by that is you’re going with the most obvious thing about Alabama, and that’s Nick Saban, and you just crash the pinata with your baseball bat.”

“When I saw it yesterday, I laughed. Some people in the media love stuff like that, (but) I think it’s a terrible look for him and for the university. Does it make people mad? Of course,” he added. “But we’re also sitting here on June 24th when most of the news cycle has dried up and won’t change dramatically. So, a story like that metastasizes.”

The FSU Seminoles will host the Alabama Crimson Tide for their season opener on August 30 at the Doak Campbell Stadium. The quarterback’s comments have ignited a firestorm from Alabama fans, and this will make that game all the more interesting.
