Texas quarterback Arch Manning is coming into the 2025 season with plenty of hype. He is already one of the favorites to win the Heisman trophy, and with the Manning family scion as quarterback, Texas is also one of the favorites to win a national championship. One analyst thinks he will be the best quarterback this season, even though the Texas star is still relatively unproven.
College football analyst George Wrighster revealed his hottest takes ahead of the 2025 season on his YouTube channel, “George Wrighster’s College Football Podcast,” and he revealed that he believes that Arch Manning should be this year’s top quarterback and that he will even out-pass LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier.
“Texas fans are going to love this one, baby,” Wrighster said. “Arch Manning will outpass Garrett Nussmeier. Now, Garrett Nussmeier threw for 4,000 yards last year and he could do it again this year. But I believe the SEC’s top passer in 2025 is going to be none other than Arch Manning. Why? Well, because Texas likes to toss the rock around, too.”
“LSU might have averaged 40 pass attempts per game in 2024, but let’s not forget that Texas averaged 34 attempts per game, and Quinn Ewers had a better completion percentage and more touchdown passes than Nussmeier in 2024. Now, if Arch is the truth, like a lot of people believe he is, and if he’s an upgrade over Quinn or his play, I could to throw for 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns in the same season since Bryce Young did it in 2021,” he added.
Arch Manning has played limited minutes since joining Texas, being Quinn Ewers’ understudy over at Austin. Many believe that this will be the Manning family scion’s breakout year, and he is only a junior.

Arch Manning’s Uncle, Peyton Manning, Praises Both His Nephew and Garrett Nussmeier
Both Arch Manning and Garrett Nussmeier come from football families, with Arch being from one of the most famous football families out there, the Mannings, which includes uncles Eli and Peyton Manning. Peyton, who was one of the coaches at the Manning Passing Academy, a camp for quarterbacks, was all praises for the two next-generation stars.
“I’m excited to watch Arch play,” said Peyton Manning. “He’s been very patient, I thought he threw the ball really well at the camp. He and Garrett Nussmeier at our three throwing expeditions really threw the ball well — all the quarterbacks throw it well. It’s impressive. They make throws that I wouldn’t even think about making.
Arch is the eldest son of the eldest of the Manning Brothers, Cooper Manning. While Cooper is a private person, Peyton and Eli are considered two of the greatest quarterbacks in the NFL.
