“It’s Kind Of Unfair”: Analyst Makes Feelings Known On Hype Around Arch Manning Ahead Of 2025-26 Season

Arch Manning’s hype has been one of the biggest conversations during the offseason in 2025 because of his ties with one of the most iconic football families in the sport.

While the Texas quarterback has spent the last two years developing, he is 6’4 ft tall with 216 lbs in weight. He is backed by his talented genes, being called the next big thing and the future face of college football. But without having spent much time on the field comes with enormous pressure.

As Paul Finebaum declares Manning to be the next Tim Tebow, analysts like Matt Barrie believe the Longhorns’ QB has been put under a lot of pressure which is quite unfair.

“He knows how to handle his last name. You can’t control your last name. Do I think it’s a little bit unfair for him to have to deal with all that? Well, yeah, because he’s got Peyton, he’s got Eli, he’s got his grandfather. He has all of this stuff around him that he can’t control over the plane,” he said (17:20).

“I’m not going to go all Paul Finebaum on you, Tim Tebow and this, that and the other, but  they have that ability, and Arch has that name to take over college football for the next couple of years, but it’s just an enormous amount of pressure. That’s why I say it’s kind of unfair. I just want to see the guy play good football first, right before I started handing in the Heisman and making him the number one overall. I just want to see him play,” he added.

Steve Sarkisian Reveals Arch Manning’s Best Traits

Arch Manning has showcased his faith in Steve Sarkisian and the Texas program by sticking to the process and not going after the starting position at other schools via the transfer portal.

Now that it’s Arch’s time to take the centre stage and lead the Longhorns, Sarkisian was asked about what he thinks Arch’s best quality is. He said it’s the work ethic that tops the charts.

Sarkisian shared Arch spends a lot of time “studying tape, studying film, studying the playbook, working at his craft, you know, in the weight room.”

“Like that is whether it’s innate in him or it was, you know, handed down from his uncles, whatever it was, his work ethic is really pretty incredible. … I’ve never had to coach him on that. He walked in the door, was a great teammate and has worked his tail off from day one,” Sarkisian added on The Herd with Colin Cowherd (via Yahoo).

Texas will kick off the 2025 college football season against Ohio State on August 29.
