    Is Alabama In the Playoffs?

Yes, despite losing the SEC championship game against the Georgia Bulldogs, the Alabama Crimson Tide made the College Football Playoff as the No. 9 team in the nation, above Miami and below Oklahoma. They will play the Oklahoma Sooners on Friday at 8:00 p.m. ET at OU Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma.

Despite finishing one spot below the Sooners in the CFP committee rankings, the bookies slightly prefer Alabama, making them 1.5-point favorites. The game is basically a toss-up, with the ESPN game predictor giving the Crimson Tide a 50.9% of winning the encounter.

    Alabama Injury Report

On Monday, during his start-of-the-week press conference, Kalen DeBoer said the following about the state of Alabama’s injuries:

“Parker’s doing good,” DeBoer said. “He’s been practicing. Jam, he’s making good progress. Just kind of continue to see how the week goes along. You guys saw him out there doing some things today. Cuevas, very similar to Jam. Making progress out there, doing some work, and really, I guess, you’re optimistic at this point.”

“We’ve still got four days left. So those guys are heading in a good direction, making good progress, and continue to evaluate them moving forward, but you saw them out there doing some things today in practice.”

Jam Miller, Parker Brailsford, Zabien Brown, and Justin Jefferson are considered probable for Friday. Josh Cuevas is considered questionable, and LT Overton is doubtful.

    Oklahoma Injury Report

Oklahoma’s Brent Venables kept his injury report much more to the point on Monday. He was asked if he was expecting defensive end R Mason Thomas and center Jake Maikkula to get some practice in this week, and he replied:

    “I do”

For the rest, he told the press more information would come later in the week with the practice report. R Mason Thomas and Jake Maikkula are still considered questionable, while Jovantae Barnes is considered probable.
