“Revoke Conor Talty’s Scholarship”: Alabama Fans Don’t Hold Back as Kicker Makes Mistake Amid Georgia Showdown

Alabama’s matchup against Georgia carried massive weight, with both programs looking to make a statement in one of the season’s most anticipated games. The Crimson Tide entered the contest holding a 24-14 lead midway through the third quarter, appearing to control momentum in front of a charged-up crowd.

That’s when Conor Talty delivered one of the most bizarre moments of the game. With just over nine minutes to go in the third, the Alabama kicker attempted a routine effort but sent the ball sailing badly off target.

It was a miss that stood out not only for its timing but for how far off the mark it was, leaving both fans in the stadium and those watching at home stunned.

“It’s time Alabama holds open tryouts for a new kicker revoke Conor Talty scholarship immediately,” a fan wrote.

“This genuinely has to be the worst kick of all time,” a fan wrote.

“death. taxes. bad bama kickers,” PrizePicks wrote.

“I JUST KNEW THIS SH*T WAS GON HAPPEN LIKE IT ALWAYS HAPPENS IN THE 2ND HALF,” a fan wrote.

“Classic bama kickers,” a fan wrote.

    “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a worse kick!” A fan wrote.

The mistake quickly overshadowed Alabama’s solid play to that point. Against a powerhouse like Georgia, even small miscues can swing momentum, and this error felt like it had the potential to do just that.

The Bulldogs closed the gap with seven points in the third quarter. However, the Crimson Tide didn’t make further mistakes, especially in the fourth quarter. Despite going scoreless in the fourth, they closed the game with a 24-21 win.

    Kalen DeBoer on Alabama’s Defense

Heading into the game, Alabama was 2-1 in the season. They lost the season opener against Florida State, and after that, managed to avoid losses. In the next two games, Alabama’s defense was imposing, restricting opponents to 0 and 14 points in two games.

Before facing Georgia, the expectation was that the Crimson Tide defense would once again come to the team’s rescue. Coach Kalen DeBoer was confident about it and shared his thoughts on ‘Hey Coach.’

“You can see there’s qualities each of them bring to the table is a little bit different.” DeBoer highlighted Zachariah Branch. “They have those types of weapons. They have those types of threats… We’ve got to rally to the ball … the entire team.”

Although the win over Georgia wasn’t a blowout, walking off with a dub against a mighty team like the Bulldogs would mean more to the Alabama program.
