Abdul Carter is one of the most promising prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. He is expected to go off the boards as a top-five pick, and several teams are reportedly in contention for the Penn State EDGE. Thursday morning, it was announced that he won’t participate in the 2025 NFL Combine in Indianapolis due to a medical setback.

Abdul Carter Breaks Silence on His Latest Setback
Carter was due for multiple scans on Wednesday due to a recent right foot injury. Although it doesn’t require surgery, he is barred from engaging in any kind of physical activity. Just hours into the news, Carter has finally spoken up.
On Thursday, Feb. 27, all the defensive linemen were scheduled to participate in the drills after a brief interaction with the reporters on Wednesday.
In the early hours of the same day, Carter’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, made the news public that the doctors had advised him not to participate in the drills and that he would showcase his skills during the Penn State Pro Day, which is scheduled for March 28.
“I couldn’t be more confident that this will be a nonfactor where he’s drafted,” Rosenhaus said Thursday via ESPN. “He will put on a show at his pro day,” he added.
Hours later, Carter dropped an X post letting his fans know that he was okay and it was time for him to rehab until he finally takes the field on March 28.

While speaking to the reporters on Wednesday, the 21-year-old said he would fully recover in a month or so. “I’m really just starting to heat it up again,” he said via NFL.com. “Just started training and working out again, so the next couple of weeks are just me getting right, getting ready for my pro day to perform at an elite level.
“I think I’m about 90 percent right now. I feel like the next month it’s going to be really close to 100.”
