This year he made the move to defensive end and exploded. The junior logged 68 tackles, 24 TFLs, and 12 sacks. Throughout the year, Carter received more and more draft hype. Now, he is the consensus #1 EDGE in the 2025 class.
With all the hype around him, where could he find himself going in the draft?
Where Will Carter Be Drafted?
The Penn State product is an absolute freak athlete at one of the most important positions in the sport. That, paired with his performance in last night’s Orange Bowl, should solidify him as a top 5 selection in the 2025 NFL draft.
The 6’3″, 251-pound Carter is a pure pass rusher who can get after the quarterback in a variety of ways. He has the ability to use both speed and power to get around and off blocks and get pressure. He has an elite first step, allowing him to threaten offensive tackles vertically, and he has a deep bag of pass-rush moves to win on the inside as well.
Overall, he is the complete package as a pass rusher and should be highly coveted by all NFL teams. The Tennessee Titans, Las Vegas Raiders, and Cleveland Browns are all picking inside of the top five and could all use an EDGE rusher like Carter. There’s also a good chance that a team outside of the top five is already looking to make a move up to grab him.
Either way, Carter is seemingly a lock to be a top selection in April and is going to make the fanbase of whatever team he goes to very happy.
