Who Is Playing in the AAC Championship Game?
After clinching their spots a week prior, Tulane and Army fared incredibly different in Week 13. Still, the Green Wave and Black Knights will meet in Week 15 for the AAC Championship.
However, the seeding has yet to be determined. With a win, the tiebreakers will have to be determined following the results of all AAC games as to who is the home team, but if one team wins and the other loses in Week 14, the winning team will host the AAC Championship Game.
Who Are the American Athletic Conference Teams?
The American Athletic Conference welcomed in a host of new teams on July 1, 2023, headlined by the UTSA Roadrunners, the 2022 Conference USA Champions. The AAC presents a unique challenge of teams from across the country with differing styles of play and coaching philosophies.

The landscape of the AAC changed just slightly ahead of the 2024 college football season in terms of new member schools per se. The AAC lost SMU to the ACC and welcomed Army in as a football-only member in 2024.
The Black Knights will take part in football contests against member schools, however, the annual Army-Navy game will remain at the end of the season and not count toward conference records.
With 14 football members, the American Athletic Conference consists of 15 member universities:
- University of Alabama at Birmingham
- University of North Carolina Charlotte
- East Carolina University
- Florida Atlantic University
- University of Memphis
- United States Naval Academy (in football only)
- University of North Texas
- Rice University
- University of South Florida
- Temple University
- University of Texas at San Antonio
- Tulane University
- United States Military Academy West Point
- University of Tulsa
- Wichita State University (in basketball and Olympic sports)
