ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky Believes Travis Hunter Has Canton-Level Potential: ‘Tell Me How He Doesn’t Become a Hall of Famer’

The 2025 NFL Draft is mere days away. With the draft class playing field beginning to narrow down, Travis Hunter remains as one of the top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, expected to go in the top three overall picks, with the Cleveland Browns the favorite to land the two-way player with their second overall pick.

What Hunter has done in the college football landscape could have changed it forever. Hunter played on both sides of the ball, and not only played on both sides, but excelled on both sides. He was a top-five receiver, as well as a top-five corner in the sport. ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky believes that Hunter has Canton-level potential.

Dan Orlovsky Shares Bold Claim About Travis Hunter

The Browns are expected to take Hunter at second overall, which seems like a no-brainer for Orlovsky. “If I’m the Browns, Travis Hunter would be my pick at No. 2. It’s an easy decision.” However, if for some reason the Browns don’t take him, the New York Giants are up next.

“If, for some reason, they don’t take him, and I’m the Giants, it’s Shedeur Sanders or Travis Hunter,” says Orlovsky. “I like Shedeur — this is an easy decision. I’m taking Travis Hunter. I’m taking Travis Hunter as quickly as possible,” Orlovsky said on NFL Live.

Orlovsky remains very high on Hunter. Orlovsky believes not only is Hunter the best receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft class, but he could be one of the best overall players in the entire class, and he’s a player with “Canton-level potential.”

“He is sensational on tape,” Orlovsky says to Nick Wilson and Jonathan Peterlin on 92.3 The Fan. “I would love for someone to tell me how he doesn’t become a Hall of Famer. He’s physically, remarkably gifted…unbelievable ball skills, instincts.”

This is some very high praise from one of the top NFL analysts in the entire sport. Orlovsky has all the experience and history in the world to know what he’s talking about, and the praise he’s giving Hunter could be opening many eyes of not only listeners but also players and even maybe some coaches.

It remains to be seen how things play out and more specifically where Hunter lands. It’s expected Hunter will be a top-three pick and find his way to the Browns.

However, if the Browns for some reason do pass on Hunter, then Hunter should be the favorite to land on the Giants.
