‘I Fit 32 Teams’ — Travis Hunter Flexes NFL Draft Confidence As Lil Wayne Pushes Packers

The buzz around Colorado CB/WR prospect Travis Hunter is reaching fever pitch as the 2025 NFL Draft approaches.

The two-way phenom and Heisman Trophy winner isn’t just turning heads with his rare ability to dominate on both sides of the ball—he’s also making waves with his unwavering confidence and some high-profile backing from rap superstar Lil Wayne, who’s not shy about wanting Hunter in the green and gold.

Travis Hunter Shows Draft Confidence As Lil Wayne Attempts to Sell Prospect on Packers

When most draft prospects talk about their potential NFL homes, they typically mention a handful of teams. Not Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter. On a recent episode of his podcast, he cut straight to the chase: “I fit 32 teams.”

After following coach Deion Sanders from Jackson State to Colorado, Hunter lit up the scoreboard in 2024 with 721 receiving yards and five touchdowns as a wide receiver. Then he’d turn around and shut down opposing offenses as a cornerback, snagging multiple interceptions and breaking up passes throughout the season.

His trophy case speaks volumes: the Heisman, the Biletnikoff Award (top receiver), and the Chuck Bednarik Award (defensive excellence) all in one historic season.

Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky didn’t mince words when assessing Hunter’s potential, calling him “the steal of the draft” despite top-five projections.

Orlovsky also notably raved about Hunter’s football IQ.

“When you watch his tape, his ability to see the defense with the ball fake and that backside defender, what type of route is needed… That ball is out of his hands before the receiver is going to run an out route.”

Lil Wayne Gushes Over Packers Potentially Picking Hunter

The Hunter hype train gained another conductor when Lil Wayne appeared on the star player’s podcast.

Wayne, who represents Hunter through Young Money APAA Sports, couldn’t contain his excitement.

“You got 33 [sic] teams now, salivating, bro,” he told Hunter, playfully adding an extra team to emphasize Hunter’s extraordinary demand.

The hip-hop legend got emotional discussing Hunter’s draft stock, confessing, “When you watch as much sports as I do and follow sports television, man, when you hear people say something like ‘the best player in this whole draft is Travis Hunter,’ that gives me chills.”

But Wayne wasn’t just there as a fan – he came with an agenda for his beloved Green Bay Packers.

“If the Packers pick you, that is about fit, you know? It’s about fit, man,” Wayne explained, describing the perfect team-player match as “a marriage that you go to your homeboys about every day.”

Through all the praise and celebrity endorsements, Hunter keeps his feet firmly planted. His response to the growing acclaim shows his character.

“That doesn’t do anything for me, though. That’s the best part about it. As soon as I hear that, I go to the gym.”

As draft day approaches, NFL teams face a tantalizing question: How do you maximize a player who could potentially star on both offense and defense? Whatever the answer, Hunter’s journey to the pros promises to be one of the draft’s most compelling storylines.
