LSU was dealt another blow as sophomore Mjracle Sheppard entered the transfer portal.

The move was announced on Tuesday, April 22, just days before the transfer portal deadline. As the team made the Elite Eight, she averaged 3.9 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game, and 1.1 steals per game.
A 5’10” guard from Kent, Washington, is now searching for her third school in as many years. She came to LSU after spending her freshman year at Mississippi State. The list of schools to which Sheppard could lend her defensive prowess is lengthy, but five places would be a great landing spot for her.
South Carolina Gamecocks
Dawn Staley’s squad could certainly use Sheppard’s skills and her postseason experience, especially with the departure of guard Te-Hina PaoPao to the WNBA and MiLaysia Fulwiley’s turbulent exit into the transfer portal. Staying in the SEC would also benefit her in terms of familiarity with her opponents.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
The departures of Sonia Citron to the WNBA and Olivia Miles, who entered the portal before committing to TCU, leave a backcourt slot open next to the team’s scoring ace, Hannah Hidalgo. It would also be a potential place to consistently start for Sheppard, who only logged three starts in her 57-game career at Mississippi State and LSU.
Duke Blue Devils
Sticking with the ACC, Sheppard’s defensive grit is certainly reminiscent of the same spirit that head coach Kara Lawson had in her career. Her presence would fill in for the absence at the guard position the Blue Devils now have with the departures of senior Reigan Richardson entering the WNBA Draft, and losing Belgian guard Louann Battiston to the transfer portal.
UCLA Bruins
A move back to the West Coast might be for Sheppard, with playing for the Bruins as a solid option. The team has dealt with its surprise departures involving the transfer portal, with Londynn Jones committing to USC after hitting the portal a week after UCLA’s loss in the Final Four.
Stanford Cardinal
The historic program went through some bumps in its move to the ACC from the PAC-12, relying on underclassmen to compete after the departure of Kiki Iriafen to USC.
