Daniel Jeremiah predicts Travis Hunter will be drafted by the struggling Cleveland Browns in the 2025 NFL Draft and be an offense-first player.

Cleveland Browns Plan On Using Travis Hunter As A Wide Receiver First?
The 2025 NFL Draft Class might not be the most talented group of guys to come out in recent memory, but there sure is a list of some exciting names that fans will be on the edge of their seats to see where they land.
At the top of that list is none other than the Heisman trophy winner himself, Travis Hunter. The 2025 NFL Draft will be the 90th annual meeting of franchises to draft new eligible players. You would think by this point we have seen it all, but there’s a first for everything.
Hunter is one of one, never before have we seen a player of his skill set come into the NFL. The Junior out of Colorado played a total of 1,462 snaps from scrimmage in 2024. 714 on offense and 748 on defense.
Dominating on both sides of the ball, Hunter has made it clear that he wants to play both ways in the NFL for any team thinking of drafting him come April 24.
Daniel Jeremiah, draft analyst and writer for NFL Network, is confident that Hunter won’t fall past the Cleveland Browns at 2nd overall and that Cleveland plans on using him mostly on offense and giving him some snaps on defense.
“Clevelands going to take him, he’s going to major on offense, he’s going to minor on defense.” Jeremiah said when asked his thoughts on where Hunter will end up in the draft.
We’ve seen players on both sides of the football in the NFL before, but never to the extent that Hunter did at Colorado and what he’s looking to do in the NFL.
For the players who played both ways, we have never seen a guy who was an offensive first player.
Hunter’s former coach, Deion Sanders, played sparingly on offense throughout his career but was a CB first and foremost. The same would be said for former Denver Bronco All-Pro CB Champ Bailey, who lined up at WR early in his career as well.
JJ Watt is one of the best defensive ends to play this game. Once upon a time, he played both ways. He won Defensive Player of the Year in 2014 after racking up 20.5 sacks while also recording 3 receiving touchdowns.
Hunter is looking to have an extensive role, but for how long will that last? This isn’t college anymore. The NFL is a 17-game schedule against some of the best athletes on the planet. Lining up every Sunday requires everyone to be on their ‘A’ game both mentally and physically.
Because a team like Cleveland, looking to draft Hunter with the 2nd overall pick, wants a game-changer. They would take greatness on one side of the ball any day over mediocrity on both.
To play both sides of the football in the NFL you have to prove you can do it a very high level or there’s zero point in having you out there.

Will Hunter be able to consistently get open against Jalen Ramsey and then, in the very next series, play man coverage against Tyreek Hill? It sounds inhuman, right?
But Hunter has shown throughout his college career that the former Heisman winner is all but normal and can do things clearly no other player in the history of this game could do at that level.
Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: We can’t wait to see where Hunter ends up and how that team uses him.
