Coach Prime Dotes on New Grandson, Dubbing Himself ‘GrandPrime’

Sanders treasures being a family man. At Colorado’s spring game on Saturday, April 19, he took on another level as he got a visit from his grandson and daughter.

Deiondra Sanders and her son, Snow Jacquees Sanders-Broadnax, were seen on the grass at Folsom Field as the Buffaloes were getting ready for the game, with Snow enjoying himself as Coach Sanders looked on.

Later on, the third-year coach shared a photo of Deiondra and Snow on his Instagram account. The caption was a lovely message to his daughter and grandson. “I love being a Father & a GrandPrime,” he wrote. Deiondra would respond in the comments, “We love you, Daddy.”

The photo was met with numerous adoring comments from fans and friends, with one noting Sanders’ new nickname: “First of all, he is ADORABLE. Second, the name Grandprime is GOLDEN.”

Coach Sanders has leaned into being “GrandPrime” since announcing Snow’s birth on his birthday last August at a press conference, accentuating how special it was.

“That’s how good God is, like God would choose me on my birthday, for my daughter, for my kids to have their first child, the first time I’m a grandfather, on my birthday,” he said at the time, according to USA Today.

“Do you understand how beautiful that is? How much of a blessing that is?”

Deiondra is the eldest of Coach Sanders’ five children. Since Snow’s (also affectionately nicknamed Que) birth, he’s become a cherished part of the family.
