Emely Rodriguez has revealed that she intends to enter the transfer portal. The UCF freshman averaged 11.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game this season and would be a huge loss for UCF women’s basketball.
Rodriguez has made an instant impact for UCF, and she’s one of five international players on UCF’s women’s basketball roster, along with sophomore forward Achol Akot from Canada, freshman forward Adeang Ring from Australia, freshman center Arek Angui from South Sudan, and fifth-year senior guard Lucie Castagne from France.

How Emely Rodriguez Rose To Stardom
The 6-foot guard moved to the United States from the Dominican Republic and earned the Miami Herald Miami-Dade Player of the Year award after she led Horeb Christian to its first appearance in an FHSAA championship game as a high school junior. Emely moved to Kissimmee for her senior year and played a key role in Central Pointe Academy’s SIAA title run.
Rodriguez scored in double figures in four of her first six collegiate games, including an 18-point, seven-rebound outing against back-to-back NCAA tournament qualifier Marquette. She also matched her career high in a home win against Florida A&M, as the Knights went 6-0 in the season’s opening month.
