The NCAA transfer portal has introduced a significant change to college basketball, offering athletes the chance to switch programs and, at the same time, teams the ability to swiftly adapt their rosters. For the Oklahoma Women’s Basketball team, the transfer portal cycle, which began on March 24, 2025, has really given rise to notable shifts.
The 2024-2025 season was a significant breakthrough for the Sooners, as it saw them proceed to the Sweet 16, of course, the team’s first appearance since 2013. Here is a comprehensive breakdown of the latest movements and their implications for the Sooners.

Who’s Out: Oklahoma Players Entering the Transfer Portal
Since the transfer portal opened, three Oklahoma players — junior guard Reyna Scott, junior forward Kiersten Johnson, and sophomore forward Landry Allen—have opted to seek new opportunities elsewhere.
Reyna Scott
A 5’10” guard from Oklahoma City, Reyna Scott entered the portal on March 31, 2025. During the 2024-25 season, she played 30 games, started 9, and averaged 4.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists/game. She dropped her career-high 15 points against Kansas in 2024.

Kiersten Johnson
At 6’4”, Johnson is a versatile forward with the potential to play inside and out. She opted for the portal on March 31, 2025, having an average of 2.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in a few appearances during the 2024-25 season. Having two years of eligibility left, Johnson will aim to find a program offering a bigger role.
Landry Allen
A 6’3” center from Tuttle, Oklahoma, Allen entered the portal on April 1, 2025. In her sophomore season, she played in 21 games and averaged 1.8 points and 0.9 rebounds in 4.8 minutes per outing. Though not a starter, her size made her a valuable reserve.
Who’s In: Incoming Transfers to Oklahoma
Aaliyah Chavez
The announcement was made yesterday during a press conference during which Chavez expressed her enthusiasm about bringing her talents to Norman.
Chavez, a 5’9″ guard known for shooting accuracy and defensive doggedness, transfers to Oklahoma, having spent two stunning seasons at San Diego State University. During her sophomore year, she had an average of 14.8 points, 4.2 assists, and 2.3 steals/ game, with 41% shooting beyond the arc.
“Joining the Sooners represents an incredible opportunity to compete at the highest level,” Chavez said. “Coach Jennie Baranczyk’s system fits my playing style perfectly, and I can’t wait to contribute to this program’s rich tradition.”
