Jaiden Glover, the seldom-used shooting guard heads into the portal looking for a better situation.

Jaiden Glover Hits Portal, Suitors Abound
When you look back at former St. John’s shooting guard Jaiden Glover’s freshman season, you see a play that never saw court time. In 22 games, the Brooklyn-born, New Jersey-raised standout tallied just 140 minutes and eight seconds of playing time.
That shakes out to 6.4 minutes a night. Additionally, his 2.2 point-average does not exactly inspire either enthusiasm or hopefulness. Seemingly buried on the bench in Queens, the 6’4″ reserve jumps right into the portal. Which teams turned an inquisitive eye towards Glover?
St. John’s transfer Jaiden Glover is receiving interest from the following programs, per his agent Aaron Turner of Verus.
Kentucky
Gonzaga
Virginia Tech
NC State
Creighton
UAB
Temple
St. Joe’s
St. Bonaventure
LaSalle

Kentucky Wildcats
With star two-guard Otega Oweh declaring for the draft, Mark Pope’s guard-influenced offense looks like a perfect fit for Glover. However, what if Oweh returns to Lexington? That completely undermines the former Red Storm player’s initial intention: getting to a play where he’d play.
Pope is an excellent coach with a sound gameplan and mind for the game. However, the uncertainty of not knowing needs to factor into the decision.
Gonzaga Bulldogs
It seems like Mark Few continues to find guard talent from every corner of the globe, all that willingly travel to Spokane. Seniors Nolan Hickman and Ryan Nembhard depart from the team with a combined 25 points per game.
Glover’s length would also benefit the Bulldogs when defending the one or two spot in the backcourt. Mark Few can make this work with Glover. The guard has a moldable skillset that just needs the right coach that wants him to stick around for a couple of seasons.
Virginia Tech Hokies
The Hokies have not sniffed the NCAA tournament since 2022. As a result, head coach Mike Young needs to do something to shake up the culture and put Blacksburg hoops back on the map. Unlike most stops on this list, it doesn’t matter who is leaving VA Tech, just that they’re leaving.
How else do you explain a team that averaged 69.2 points a night, ranking them 302 out of 264 teams? That cannot stand, in any way, shape or form. Perhaps Glover’s best chance to see as many shots as he likes.
NC State Wolfpack
New head coach Will Wade promised the Wolfpack faithful instant brilliance and success. While too late to backpedal, Wade brings a bunch of transfers into Raleigh, hoping to cobble together a winning program.
Now, in the ACC, that remains easier said than done. Too many teams in that conference want to enhance their own winning records by stepping over North Carolina State. With three years of eligibility left, the former Johnnies guard can help usher in an era of stability.

Creighton Bluejays
Believe it or not, the key person in this possible union isn’t the head coach. Assistant Alan Huss, the head-coach-in-waiting, will have a say regarding the portal moves. Glover possesses just enough grit and toughness to play for Greg McDermott and later Alana Huss.
This one looks like the furthest in realism, if Glover wanted to see the court in meaningful minutes. The Blue Jays plucked three guards from the portal, all of whom are either better shooters or playmakers.
UAB Blazers
In their second year in the AAC, the Blazers acquitted themselves very well with a 24-13 record. In head coach Andy Kennedy, you have a coach who is also an alum and who has a vested interest in making the team even more successful.
While Glover may not see the lion’s share of shots, UAB will present him with the best balance in winning/contribution of the above-mentioned teams. While nowhere near the East Coast, the opportunity to shine in the AAC, which is a decent conference, could be too tempting to pass up.
