Arizona Wildcats wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan came into the 2024 season with high expectations and didn’t disappoint. He showed off his tremendous ability on the outside as his team’s go-to pass-catcher.
The Hawaii native has been on NFL Draft radars for multiple years now. What are we hearing about McMillan’s range, and who may select the Arizona wide receiver?

Tetairoa McMillan Mock Draft Projections
Coming out of the season, McMillan was widely considered to be the top receiving option in the draft and many had him going in the top 10 in mock drafts. As the draft process has gone along, his name has steadily slipped to the point where he projects as likely to be taken in the 20s.
That lines up with our Top 300 Big Board, as McMillan is right in the middle at No. 25.
Something that concerns scouts and analysts about the receiver is that, although he was the Wildcats’ No. 1 option, he doesn’t seem to possess the alpha dog mentality that top receiving options in the NFL often have.

Along with that, he doesn’t have the top-end speed and had trouble at times creating separation at the college level, an alarming trend as he heads to the pros.
Despite the flaws, McMillan is an extremely talented player with a tremendous frame at 6 feet 4 inches, 219 pounds. He has large 10-inch hands and a wide catch radius, making him a quarterback’s best friend from Day one.
Add in that he produced at an elite level on the field, something that other top wideouts didn’t necessarily match, and McMillan is a bona fide first-round pick at the receiver position. It would be a major surprise to see his name still on the board come Day 2.
Tetairoa McMillan Shushed Doubters With Pro Day 40-Yard Dash
McMillan didn’t participate in any on-field drills at the NFL Combine, instead opting to do so at Arizona’s Pro Day.
Among those drills was the 40-yard dash — which McMillan crushed, clocking in at a reported 4.48 seconds. That mark was far faster than expected and was seen as something that could potentially push him over other receivers in the draft order.
Though it was a win for McMillan and his camp, it’s arguable that the film doesn’t show that same speed.

The long strides on the field may make him look slower than he actually is, but as the saying goes, “The film doesn’t lie.”
Running under a 4.5 40-yard dash shouldn’t move the needle for NFL teams, and it ultimately doesn’t seem like it did, as the former Wildcat is still shaping up to be taken in the late teens or 20s.
