Talia von Oelhoffen’s parents, Tondi and Kimo von Oelhoffen, both have a history with the sport. Tondi, Talia’s mother, was a force on the basketball court at the Hawai’i. According to Sports Illustrated, Tondi also claimed the U.S. Juniors pentathlon crown, showcasing a lot of potential. Many believe Talia seems to have inherited her mother’s talents.
Talia’s father, Kimo von Oelhoffen, was a football player. He played defensive tackle in the NFL for 14 seasons with teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets, and Philadelphia Eagles. Kimo also earned a Super Bowl ring with the Steelers.
Talia’s story began in Pasco, Washington, where she first showcased her talent at Tri-Cities Prep, leading her team to a Class 2B state title as a sophomore. Transferring to Chiawana High School, she was diagnosed with mononucleosis but still managed to push her team to the Class 4A state tournament.
Graduating early to escape COVID-19 restrictions, she dove into college basketball at Oregon State. There, she earned Pac-12 All-Freshman honors, averaging 11.3 points per game.
Her sophomore year was also very impressive. In 2022, Talia scored a career-high 41 points against Nevada, a feat unmatched by an Oregon State player since 2008. She earned All-Pac-12 honors that season.

Injuries cut her junior year short, but she still posted 13.2 points per game. By her senior season, she helped Oregon State reach the Elite Eight in 2024, averaging 5.0 assists and earning another All-Pac-12 nod.
Now at USC, Talia continues to build her career. A graduate transfer in the Big Ten, she’s already earned a spot on the Maui Classic All-Tournament Team. Tondi’s on-court talent and Kimo’s strength are present in each sharp drive, smart pass, and play made by Talia in her matches.
