With less than three weeks until the 2025 NFL Draft, first-team All-SEC cornerback Trey Amos is becoming a popular name as someone rising up draft boards and potentially hearing his name called earlier than expected.

Ole Miss CB Trey Amos A Potential Late Riser in 2025 NFL Draft Amid Draft Buzz
2025 NFL Draft prospect cornerback Trey Amos has been around the college football world. Spanning five years at the college level, he spent time with three different programs.
A three-star prospect out of New Iberia, La., he began his career with the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. During his three seasons with the program, he established himself as one of the top cover men in the Sun Belt Conference.
Following his breakout junior season, in which he registered 27 solo tackles and eight passes defended, Amos decided to take his talents to the highest level of the sport, joining the Alabama Crimson Tide.
He spent one season in Tuscaloosa after finding himself buried on the depth chart behind eventual NFL Draft picks Terrion Arnold and Kool-Aid McKinstry. Seeing action in 10 games, Amos recorded just 12 total tackles.
With one season of eligibility remaining, he transferred to Ole Miss, where he grew into one of the top defenders in the conference. After totaling 50 tackles (including 39 solo), 13 passes defended and three interceptions, Amos was named first-team All-SEC.
At 6’1″ and 195 pounds, Amos now finds himself in position to hear his name called at the NFL Draft in just a few short weeks.
Dane Brugler, an NFL Draft analyst for The Athletic, had strong praise for Amos during an appearance on the This Is Football podcast.
“I think things have really picked up for him based on the tape,” he said. “And he goes to the combine and runs a lot better than expected, he tests a lot better than expected. Pro day, talking to a scout that was there—I talked to multiple scouts that were there—they said his corner workout was exceptional.”
Brugler continued, offering a clear view of where Amos may be selected—and it might surprise some.

“4.4 [40-yard dash] athlete, he can smother in press, he can play off, play zone. This is someone teams are looking at as an ascending player over the last six months and I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up in the first 30 picks.”
