Alessandro Lorenzetti, who has not played for the Michigan Wolverines in three seasons, will enter the transfer portal.

Michigan OL Alessandro on the Move
According to a Detroit Free Press article, ESPN ranked Lorenzetti as the top high school recruit from Connecticut, and Rivals listed him as the No. 3 recruit in the state.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, Lorenzetti attended high school at the Loomis Chaffee School after transferring from Selwyn House School in his home province.
When his high school offensive coordinator, Donnie McKillop, was interviewed in 2022 by The Wolverine, he said, “He’s a guy who wants to be perfect and wants to have a deep understanding of everything,” McKillop said. “He asks many questions and is always seeking answers and support and trying to get better.”
Then-Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh was high on Lorenzetti when he arrived. Still with the Wolverines as head coach in 2022, Jim Harbaugh praised Lorenzetti when he arrived.
“Out of Montreal and going to prep school in Connecticut right now, where he’s playing good football,” Harbaugh said after Lorenzetti signed with the Wolverines. “Alessandro came and knocked the socks off of Sherrone Moore, and the recruiting process was turned up with Alessandro. Great kid, great guy, great parents said Harbaugh.”
The Detroit Free Press article noted that “he struggled to get into games and compete against more seasoned players.”
With two years of eligibility left, he offers the school a big body at 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds and versatility, having played the offensive and defensive lines.
Michigan is set to lose several players this offseason. The highest-profile player is Mason Graham, who will enter the NFL Draft in a few weeks.
