Former National Junior College Athletic Association All-American at Western Oklahoma State College and Oakland guard Chang Hoth entered the transfer portal after a medical redshirt due to a torn ACL, he told Jake Lieberman Monday. Hoth averaged 22.2 points on 50.4% and led JUCO in 3-pointers with the Pioneers.
Hoth’s twin brother, Jack, also hit the transfer portal. Here are five potential landing spots for the 6’3” Hoth.

Top Five Transfer Portal Landing Spots For Oakland Guard Chang Hoth
St. Thomas
The Tommies had a solid season, getting just a win in the Summit League tournament championship away from their first-ever NCAA tournament berth. With top guard and second-leading scorer Kendall Blue entering the portal on April 4, head coach John Tauer’s team is in the market for new faces in the backcourt. Hoth, who hails from Saint Paul, Minnesota, could become the hometown hero.
Milwaukee
The Panthers were upset in the Horizon League tournament quarterfinal by Hoth’s Grizzlies, losing out on the chance for their first NCAA tournament berth since 2014 and just their fifth all-time. Led by guard Themus Fulks, who is now out of eligibility, Milwaukee could be another midwestern option for Hoth.
Northern Iowa
Perhaps Hoth prefers a purple and gold shade of midwestern Panther. With top guard Tytan Anderson out of eligibility after five seasons in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the Panthers could take a flier on the former Grizzly as they seek their first NCAA tournament berth since 2016 out of the Missouri Valley Conference.
North Dakota State
With top guard Jacari White headed to Virginia, the Bison are in the mix for some fresh blood to help them break through the top of the Summit League. If he reaches his full potential as a scorer, Hoth could fill that gap and help lead them to their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2019.
South Dakota State
With freshmen Owen Larson and Stoney Hadnot, who averaged a combined 15.5 points per game, headed to the portal, the Jackrabbits have some work to do to get to their third NCAA tournament of the 2020s.

Hoth could fill the gap, pairing with freshman Joe Sayler to make a lethal duo in the backcourt.
