UConn’s Paige Bueckers is the most popular NCAA basketball player in America, at least according to her social media followers. Over the last few months, the WNBA-bound guard has been rumored to be dating several other athletes.
Reporters have theorized that Bueckers was going out with the likes of European Basketball player Matt Freeman, NFL quarterback Spencer Rattler, and Orlando Magic point guard Jalen Suggs.
Are Jalen Suggs and Paige Bueckers Dating?
During an interview with GQ’s Leah Faye Cooper prior to this year’s March Madness tournament, Bueckers admitted that she wasn’t seeing anybody and that dating life as a college athlete and future WNBA star is quite tough.
“‘I’m more just focused on basketball. It’s a crazy world out here.'” Bueckers explained when she was questioned about her current relationship status.
This statement came as a surprise to many, who theorized that Bueckers was dating Orlando Magic’s Jalen Suggs. This is because the two athletes are actually close friends who grew up together.
The two basketball stars hail from the Minnesota area. They first met when Buecker’s brother played youth basketball with Suggs, and they were inseparable from that point onwards.
One of Sugg’s family members, his cousin Mia Curtis, explained how it felt talking to the two when they were growing up, describing the two as the male and female versions of each other.
“They were like the male and female versions of each other. Certain interactions you’d have – I’d just walk away and be like, ‘Oh, my God. Was I talking to Paige or Jalen?’”
In the past, Suggs has also credited the UConn star as one of his main motivators, revealing that a call with Bueckers inspired him before a regional final game against Southern California.
“I’ve been kind of struggling, trying to get my footing in these tournament games,” Suggs said. “She kind of said some words – it kind of got me uplifted, got me going.”
Has Bueckers Ever Dated Anybody?
Many have theorized and strongly believe that the UConn point guard has had a previous relationship history with both Spencer Rattler and Matt Freeman.
Bueckers was previously seen working out in the gym with the former by the paparazzi; neither of these stories has been confirmed to be true.
